Echizen Coast
The season runs from late December to February every year.
It is counted among Japan's three largest daffodil colonies, along with Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture and the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture. The impressive sight of them blooming on steep slopes while enduring the rough waves of the Sea of Japan is impressive, and it is the largest in Japan at 60 to 70 hectares. There are several places worth seeing, but the best spots are Nashigahira Garden and Nashigahira Plateau View Spot, which offer spectacular views overlooking the Sea of Japan, and Echizen Misaki Daffodil Land, where you can view daffodils indoors. In November 2020, it was designated as a national "Important Cultural Landscape."
